ALL ABOUT THE BIBLE AND SECOND COMING
DID YOU SEE the total lunar eclipse Sunday night?
It was an awesome sight, to be sure—a stunning natural phenomenon. However, there are at least eight reasons it may also be considered a biblical ‘sign’:
1. DAY OF THE LORD
In Scripture, a blood-red moon is a sign that Judgment Day is near: “The moon will turn blood red before the great and terrible day of the LORD arrives” (Joel 2:31).
Additionally, in the Talmud, blood moons are said to be a warning sign for Israel particularly (Succah 29a.)
2. MILESTONE DATE
Sunday’s blood moon marks 74 years since Israel became a nation in May 1948. This is significant because Jesus says the generation who sees the “fig-tree,” Israel, come to life and “put forth leaves” will see all the end-times events come to pass (Matt 24:32–34). Since the average human lifespan in Scripture is 70–80 years, the fig-tree generation ends at 2029, just seven years from now.
3. SECOND PASSOVER
Sunday’s blood moon coincided with the Jewish holiday Pesach Sheni, or “Second Passover,” an auxiliary Passover observance for those unable to observe the regular festival a month earlier (Num. 9:9–13).
The theme of Passover is that Jesus suffered the ultimate judgment so that those who know Him may escape judgment.
Thus, the blood moon on Second Passover may be seen as a second, or last call, warning to know Jesus before Judgment Day arrives.
4. JUDGMENT CONSTELLATION
Sunday’s blood moon occurred as the Moon was in the constellation Libra, the heavenly sign depicting the scales of justice. The Hebrew name for Libra, Mozanaim, “the scales, weighing,” conveys the fact that we are weighed in the balances and found wanting without the atoning blood of Jesus to cover our sins.
5. A SIGN FOR THE DIASPORA
Seeing how blood moons are considered a sign for Jews, it is noteworthy that, with the exception of Israel, Sunday’s lunar eclipse was fully visible in the nations with the largest Jewish populations: The US, France, Canada, UK, and Argentina. Thus, the majority of Jews who reside outside of Israel saw the moon turn blood-red as their ancient homeland turned 74.
Incidentally, Israel’s 74 years are equivalent to 888 months. In the original Greek Scriptures, 888 is the numerical equivalent of the name Jesus. Could the timing of the blood moon be a subtle sign to Israel concerning the identity of her true Messiah?
6. HARVEST SIGN
Sunday’s blood moon is the last full moon before the wheat harvest festival, Pentecost, arrives in June (Lev. 23:15, 16). A full blood moon occurring just before the wheat harvest may be seen as a wake-up call pertaining to the ‘harvest’ of humanity at Jesus’ coming (Matt. 13).
7. FLOWER MOON
Sunday’s blood moon occurred on the full moon of May, traditionally designated the Flower Moon. It is significant that this sign occurred at the beginning of peak flower season, as flowers are a prominent wedding motif in Scripture, pointing ultimately to the Wedding of Messiah (Psalm 45, Song 2).
8. TIMELINE CONVERGENCE
Finally, Sunday’s blood moon is considered a sign as it occurs in a year of converging timelines, based on God’s seven-year Sabbatical cycle (Lev. 25).
The biblical year ending in 2022 marks . . .
• One Sabbatical cycle since an unprecedented display of signs in the heavens.
• Seven Sabbatical cycles since the restoration of Jerusalem in 1967.
• Sixty-nine Sabbatical cycles since the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall by Suleiman circa 1536 AD.
• Ten Sabbatical cycles since Israel became a nation in 1948.
• 354 Sabbatical cycles since Daniel’s Weeks Prophecy began to be fulfilled in 457 BC.
For details on the above convergence, please see my article or video entitled, ‘Ten Reasons Nisan 1 Is a Pivotal Date in 2022’:
Was Sunday’s lunar eclipse a sign that the final seven years of Bible prophecy are upon us?
Conditions are certainly ripe. The ongoing effects of the pandemic, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, a burgeoning food and energy crisis, and spiraling inflation have set the stage for the global war, famine, and economic collapse described in the Book of Revelation.
And the scene is looking bleaker by the day.
In the US . . .
• The Dow has just suffered its longest losing streak since 2001.
• Waves of migrants continue to flood the southern border.
• Mass shootings are occurring one after another.
• Abortion rights protests are erupting from coast to coast as the nation, ironically, deals with a baby-formula shortage.
• The Second worst bird-flu outbreak ever is pushing the cost of eggs and poultry even higher.
Around the world . . .
• Skyrocketing fertilizer prices have farmers scaling back, further imperiling food supplies.
• Iranians are angrily protesting their government who just raised the price of key staples, such as chicken, eggs, and milk, by as much as 300%.
• A furious Vladimir Putin is deploying nuclear missiles to Finland’s border as the previously neutral nation prepares to join NATO.
• Israel is conducting the most extensive war drill in decades, amid a recent wave of terror attacks and threats.
And much more.
With all of the above in view, Sunday’s blood moon seems confirmation that the earth is being prepared for the ultimate time of judgment.
At the same time, the ripening wheat and blossoming flowers are a thrilling reminder that heaven is preparing for a wedding.

NOTES:
1. The average human lifespan in Scripture is 70–80 years (Ps. 90:10). The current actual average life expectancy worldwide is 73 years:
2. Sunday’s blood moon was only the second total lunar eclipse to occur during spring in the 14-year span between 2016 and 2030. The other springtime total eclipse occurred in 2021 on the same biblical date: Iyyar 14, or Second Passover.*
*Note that the modern Jewish calendar was a month out of sync with the observational-based/biblical calendar in 2021. Thus, the May 26 blood moon correctly corresponds to Iyyar 14 rather than Sivan 14.

6. Interestingly, the full moon of June, designated the Strawberry Moon, is also called the Birth Moon and Honey Moon as June is a time of birth in nature, and a popular month for weddings dating back to ancient times.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: No one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ return (Matt. 24:36). However, a convergence of biblical signs and timelines suggests it is near. To escape the judgment reserved for a God-rejecting world, one must be in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet done so, call on His name and believe that He is the Son of God who died for your sins and was raised from the dead (Rom. 10:13). Do it today. Time is running out.

TWO DISTINCT PHASES OF THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.
A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE RAPTURE (PRE-TRIBULATIONAL COMING)
AND THE SECOND ADVENT (POST-TRIBULATIONAL COMING).
1. TIME
A. RAPTURE--before the tribulation (Revelation 3: 1 0). The church will be kept out of that hour or time of testing which will come upon the whole world.
B. SECOND ADVENT --after the tribulation (Matthew 24:29-30; Revelation 19: 11-16).
2. QUICKNESS
A. RAPTURE--in a " moment" (Greek-"atom," a split-second, literally "uncut, indivisible," we
divide and cut time into years and months and days and hours and minutes and seconds, but the smallest measure of time is an "atom" of time which we might call a split-second), in the blinking on an eye (1 Cor. 15:52). It is very sudden. It will happen before people will realize it is happening (even as it was with Enoch, see Genesis 5 :24; Hebrews 11 :5). An example of
a man being raptured away suddenly so as to be seen no more is found in Acts 8:39 (where the Greek word for rapture, harpazo, is used).
B. SECOND ADVENT --slow enough for people to realize and see what is happening (Matthew 24:27; Rev. 1 :7; Psalm 2:2; Rev. 19: 19). The second coming of Christ to the earth will be visible and obvious to all. No one will miss it.
3. DATE (THE DAY ON WHICH IT WILL TAKE PLACE)
A. RAPTURE--UNKNOWN DAY. The Lord Jesus will surely come for His Church (John 14:3) but we do not know when (compare 1 John 2:28 and 3:2 where the subjunctive mood is used indicating that while the fact of His coming is sure, the time of His coming is unsure). The RAPTURE is IMMINENT which means that He may come at any time.
B. SECOND ADVENT --KNOWN DAY. The date of the second coming can be calculated to the very day. It will occur 2520 days (7 years, or 84 months, each month made up of 30 days) from the time that Antichrist makes a treaty with Israel (Daniel 9:27) and it will occur 1260 days (3 years) from the time of the abomination of desolation (Matt. 24: 15). See Revelation 11 :2,3; 12:6,14; 13:5; 2 Thess. 2:8 (Antichrist destroyed at 2nd coming).
Of course, this "known day" cannot be known or calculated by anyone until the treaty is signed (Dan. 9:27).
4. PRECEDING SIGNS
A. RAPTURE--NONE (Tit. 2: 13; Rev. 22:20; etc.). He may come for His Church at any time and nothing needs to be fulfilled before He comes. The only thing we are waiting for is the completion of the church (Matt. 16: 18; Rom. 11 :25), and only God knows when this will be.
B. SECOND ADVENT--MANY (Matthew 24:3-28). There is much that must be fulfilled before Christ returns to the earth (such as all the events in Revelation 6-18).
ILLUSTRATION: The rapture can be likened to Thanksgiving (a holiday without signs) and the second advent can be likened to Christmas (which is preceded by all kinds of signs). When you see the signs of Christmas (decorations, lights, trees, etc.) then you can be sure that Thanksgiving will take place at any time. If Christmas is near then Thanksgiving must be even nearer!
5. VISIBILITY
A. RAPTURE--Christ seen only by the church (1 Thess. 4: 17; 1 John 3:2).
B. SECOND ADVENT--Christ seen by every eye (Rev. 1 :7; Matthew 24:24-27).
6. LOCATION
A. RAPTURE--in the air (1 Thess. 4:17).
B. SECOND ADVENT--on the earth (Zech. 14:4; Acts 1:11).
7. ASSOCIATED JUDGEMENT
A. RAPTURE--the judgment seat of Christ (2 Tim. 4:1,8; 1 Pet. 1:7).
B. SECOND ADVENT --destruction of the wicked armies (Rev. 19:17 -19) and the judgment of living nations (Matthew 25 :31-46).
8. IDENTITY OF THOSE REMOVED FROM THE EARTH AND THOSE REMAINING ON THE
EARTH
A. RAPTURE--Believers are removed; unbelievers remain (1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-53;
John 14:3).
B. SECOND ADVENT --Unbelievers are removed; believers remain (Matthew 24:3 7-41 and Luke 17:34-37). See Matthew 24:38 where the unbelieving world in Noah's day was taken away in judgment.
9. PURPOSE OF CHRIST'S COMING
A. RAPTURE--to receive His bride (John 14:3; 1 Thess. 4: 17).
B. SECOND ADVENT--to receive His kingdom (Luke 19:22; Rev. chapters 19-20)
10. THE BODIES OF LIVING BELIEVERS
A. RAPTURE--church age believers are raised (those who have died) and are translated and
"changed" (those who are living) with the result that they have immmial, resurrection bodies
(1 Cor. 15:52-53; 1 Thess. 4:17).
B. SECOND ADVENT --believers who survive the tribulation enter the kingdom in natural bodies (Matthew 25:23), and these believers will eventually bear children and re-populate the earth.tmbc
